Valdese Town Council approved a budget amendment to cover costs associated with preparing for the fire-department relocation, including delivery and anchoring of a job-site trailer, electrical work and rental expenses through June of next year.
Staff said the funds will support the architect's recommendations and the job-site setup required to proceed with site work. The council also scheduled a workshop for Sept. 19 that will include a 2:00 p.m. site visit at 200 Mell Avenue followed by an in-person meeting at Town Hall to review the building plans and next steps.
A motion to approve the budget amendment carried by voice/hand vote with no recorded opposition. Staff will return with further details and continue coordination with the architect and town attorney.
