Sparta board carries Sparta Smoke Shop/Sparta Mediterranean Cuisine hearing to Oct. 1 without new notice

The Sparta Township Planning Board unanimously carried the public hearing for PB 25‑736 (the Sparta Smoke Shop and Sparta Mediterranean Cuisine, 514 Lafayette Road) to the board’s regular Oct. 1, 2025 meeting without new notice.
Board counsel explained the applicant’s legal representative was ill and a substitute could not be arranged. The applicant requested the carry; the board voted on a motion to move the matter to Oct. 1 without new notice and the roll call recorded unanimous consent by members present.
The board noted that the carry will preserve public notice and that the application will appear on the Oct. 1 agenda for hearing.
