Orange County Public Schools names two instructional supervisors and holds inaugural pinning ceremony

Orange County Public Schools on May 18 announced two administrative appointments and held its inaugural pinning ceremony recognizing 15 employees for leadership and service.
Dr. Hornick introduced Merrily Grub as the new supervisor of elementary instruction, noting Grub's nearly 30 years in education and recent service as principal of Lightfoot Elementary School. Grub said she had been "fortunate to serve as principal for seven years" and expressed appreciation for the Lightfoot community.
The board also introduced Jessica Sarver as supervisor of secondary instruction; Sarver was described as the district STEM coordinator with experience in instructional improvement, digital learning and career and technical education.
The board held a pinning ceremony and presented brief video testimonials from honorees describing why they love working for the division. Fifteen recipients and multiple staff members were invited to the podium for pins and group photos. Board members praised the honorees and described the pinning ceremony as the start of a new tradition.
The recognition segment included school-level Teachers of the Year and named the division winner, Lorie Jamerson, for sustained service and leadership in career and technical education.
The meeting recessed briefly after the recognitions before continuing with action items.
