Board approves resignations, new hires and $2,833.20 back pay

The Madison Local Board of Education approved a slate of personnel actions on May 12 that included resignations, several new hires and a back-pay correction.

An administrator presented the items for consideration, listing a retirement/resignation of the assistant superintendent (identified in the transcript as Mr. Bull), the resignation of Madison Keel (playground assistant), and approvals to employ six substitutes through the educational service center and several named hires: Vicki Miles for district information secretary, Crystal Wesley as ES secretary, Leah Radabaugh as an educational assistant (effective April 13) and Mallory Enswinger as a long-term substitute to fill pre-K dining duties. The administrator also presented hiring Brooklyn Bartone as a casual daily substitute.

The administrator told the board these personnel items were "presented for your consideration." The board moved and took roll-call votes to approve the recommendations.

Separately, the board approved providing back pay of $2,833.20 to a staff member to correct a payroll error covering three years of service; the administrator presented that correction and requested the board approve the payment.

The administrator also explained that bringing EMIS (district information) work back in-house and appointing a district information secretary is intended to preserve institutional knowledge and produce long-term savings versus prior outsourced arrangements.

The approvals concluded with roll-call votes; the items were presented and acted on during the meeting, and the district will proceed with the personnel changes and the payroll correction.
