Staff presented revised proofs for a series of eight signs that include location-specific history panels and a QR code linking to the river-gauge site and a donation page run by the Marathon County Parks Foundation. Staff told trustees the signs will be provided at no cost; the village agreed to install them within its parks.
Committee members discussed placement to ensure visibility, noted that the Highway J launch likely will be closed for the season during a bridge replacement and suggested installing a notification sign at the Clubhouse Road access. Staff said the Highway J closure timing had not been posted on the county's schedule and that they had contacted the state Department of Natural Resources about river debris and navigation safety.
A motion to approve the village installing the signs was moved, seconded and carried by voice vote; trustees gave staff permission to forward final proofs to village leadership and coordinate installation.
