Mukilteo board approves consent agenda, several policy updates and districtwide wireless refresh

The Mukilteo School District Board of Directors approved the consent agenda and a package of policy and operational items at its meeting on June 1. Board members voted unanimously to adopt the consent agenda, revised board policy 3131 on attendance-area transfers, policy 3141 on admission of nonresident students, policy 5006 on certification revocation, the 2026–27 meeting schedule and to accept the districtwide wireless refresh project.

Board President Kenny Kennedy presided over the meeting. A motion to approve the consent agenda, including the personnel addendum, was moved and seconded and passed by voice vote with all in favor. Subsequent motions to adopt the revised policies were likewise moved, seconded and approved without recorded opposition. Assistant superintendent Patty D noted minor edits made to the certification-revocation language before that vote.

The board also approved the districtwide wireless refresh, a technology project described by staff as a districtwide replacement/update of wireless hardware. The motion was moved, seconded and carried unanimously.

No formal roll-call tallies with member names were recorded in the transcript; the meeting record shows each motion was adopted by unanimous voice vote. The board did not take separate, contentious votes on these items and did not reserve any item from the consent agenda for further discussion.

The board will next take up first readings and discussions for several policy revisions, including updates to the Student Rights & Responsibilities handbook and other governance policies.
