The presentation is the third and final town hall in the plan's outreach process and is intended to gather last public comments before staff finalizes the 100% plan and begins the adoption process. Glushko told listeners the planning effort has been supported by a grant from the Texas General Land Office and has included two earlier town halls and a community survey.
Organizers said the event will begin with an open-house drop-in from 5:30 p.m., with staffed tables covering land use, transportation, housing and quality-of-life topics so attendees can provide focused feedback. A short presentation by the consultant Public Management Incorporated (PMI) is scheduled around 6 p.m., followed by a question-and-answer period.
Mike, one of the hosts, reiterated the date and time and encouraged residents to come early: "May 11th, Monday evening, doors open at 5:30," he said. The hosts also noted light refreshments may be available during the open-house portion.
Speakers described the draft as a planning framework rather than a final policy package. They said Comp Plan 2035 uses a roughly 10-year horizon to 2035, shorter than the 20-year horizons common in some plans, and that the document's purpose is to guide implementation strategies that will follow adoption.
The presentation and public input collected at the meeting will be used to move the draft from 90% to 100% completion and start the formal adoption steps. The town hall is open to residents; staff asked attendees to bring questions and said there will be opportunities to speak with planners at topic stations.
