Senior Citizen’s Commission approves minutes, records resignation and discusses 2025 meeting time change

The Senior Citizen’s Commission met Dec. 3, 2024, at the Senior Center. Chairman Paula Friez called the meeting to order at 1:05 p.m. and confirmed that Commissioners Cheryl Udin, Corenda Hugh and Patrice Niewinski were present.
The commission approved the minutes of the Sept. 10, 2024 meeting after Commissioner Cheryl Udin moved to accept them “as written” and Commissioner Corenda Hugh seconded; the motion passed unanimously. Chairman Friez then read the municipal agent report prepared by Carrie, which commissioners recorded required no changes.
Under old business commissioners reviewed recent programming and facilities matters. The Windham Tech luncheon was reported as well attended and “food was enjoyed,” and members confirmed that the previously noted dead branches outside the Senior Center — which had raised safety concerns — were addressed appropriately.
During new business the group discussed possible time changes for future 2025 meetings, naming 11:15 a.m. or 12:00 p.m. as suggested start times; no formal vote on a time change was recorded. The commission also recorded the resignation of Helen Winkler, who is leaving because she must move to Manchester; the transcript does not indicate a formal acceptance vote on the resignation.
Commissioner Patrice Niewinski moved to adjourn at 2:00 p.m.; Commissioner Corenda Hugh seconded and the motion passed unanimously. The commission set its next meeting for March 4, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. Patrice Niewinski submitted the minutes.
