City honors longtime anchor, finance team awards and police CALEA reaccreditation

Council presented Liz Krantz, a CBS 12 news anchor, with a proclamation, plaque and a ceremonial key to the city in recognition of 35 years in local broadcasting; Krantz thanked the council and described Palm Beach Gardens as a community that has been meaningful to her family.
Finance staff were recognized after a presentation by Arian Pandzic (recorded in the minutes as "for the record, Arian Panchak, finance administrator") announcing the city had received the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for the fiscal year ending Sept. 30, 2024, the Popular Annual Financial Reporting Award, and the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award — a combination the GFOA calls the Triple Crown. Staff noted the city has maintained consecutive recognition and earned special reviewer scores in strategic goals and strategies.
Assistant Police Chief Randall Anderson and Accreditation Manager Sam Dobson described the Palm Beach Gardens Police Department's CALEA (Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies) reaccreditation process and noted the department's long history of accreditation. Council publicly thanked Sam Dobson for leading accreditation efforts and invited the council and staff to pose for photos.
Council also recognized Chief Procurement Officer Kumra for receiving an Excellence in Procurement Sterling Agency Certificate Award.
These recognitions were ceremonial; no policy actions were tied to the presentations.
