During the hearing, public commenter Mark Bloomberg thanked director Jonathan DeFelippo for answering his questions and clarified line-item details, saying there is a $2 million allocation earmarked to build the picnic area at Braddock Park and only $250,000 designated for remediation of the picnic area. "It looks like we'll be getting back from Green Acres funding," Bloomberg said, adding that the larger perceived figure was not accurate.
The clerk closed the hearing after public comment, and commissioners recorded affirmative votes for final adoption. The ordinance was introduced at the May 14, 2026 meeting and was advertised and posted as required prior to the hearing.
The ordinance authorizes the capital improvements listed in its text and the financing plan recorded in the bond ordinance. County officials present described the funding plan as a mix of an anticipated trust-fund grant and bond issuance; specific contracting and project schedules will follow standard county procurement and capital project procedures.
