Chair Jamie Joyce said the consolidation merges two parcels into one and that the borough engineer only asked for clarifying setback lines to show existing nonconforming structures. A representative for the applicant said, “we're planning to knock down the current house and build a new single‑family home,” confirming the intended use of the newly consolidated lot.
Commissioners noted that several houses on the block already show similar side‑yard encroachments; the borough engineer and county review raised no substantive objections. After a motion to approve the TR lot consolidation plan application was made and seconded, commissioners recorded a voice vote in favor and the measure passed.
The commission’s approval is a recommendation and the council will review the materials at its February work session; action is scheduled for the council’s Feb. 18 regular meeting.
