On final reading the council adopted Ordinance 996, approving a text amendment to the future land‑use element of the comprehensive plan related to transitional lot sizes and densities for properties incorporated into the city. Staff noted the ordinance had been reviewed and advertised multiple times and that no adverse comments were received from required agency reviews.
During the meeting councilmembers identified a typographical discrepancy in the draft (minimum lot width listed as 60 feet in one place). The council moved and recorded a correction to ensure the minimum lot width is 65 feet in the final adopted ordinance. With no public comment, the ordinance passed on final reading by a unanimous vote, 5–0.
Next steps: the ordinance will be posted to the Department of Commerce website upon signature of the documents by the mayor and staff will finalize the record.
