Egg Harbor City Council on Dec. 18 approved a resolution authorizing city officials to negotiate with Renault Winery FBS LLC over management and operation of the Egg Harbor City Lake and Campground for 2026, with multi‑year options under consideration.
The resolution, read into the record by city staff, authorized the Finance & Redevelopment Committee, the city administrator, the chief financial officer and appropriate staff to discuss management and operational details with Renault Winery. "This is not an agreement with Renault at this point," the administrator noted while explaining that the authorization allows staff to negotiate terms that would later be brought back to council for approval.
Why it matters: The city is seeking an experienced operator to manage programming and operations at the lake and campground. Negotiating a management contract could change who runs day‑to‑day operations and may affect revenue sharing, services and capital improvements.
What’s next: Staff will proceed with negotiations and return any proposed management agreement to the council for formal approval. Council members asked for committee updates and copies of any proposed terms to be circulated to council members ahead of future votes.
