COMAL ISD Education Foundation reports strong fundraising, awards more than $62,000 in support

At the May 28 board meeting Dr. Lette Goodlo and incoming foundation board president Mike Crowley presented the Comal Education Foundation’s annual review, highlighting substantial revenue growth and program investments.
Goodlo said the October 2025 golf tournament raised more than $125,000 with net revenue of about $87,500, and an April "pros to education" event raised $275,000 with net revenue near $175,000. She said the foundation directly invested more than $140,000 into classrooms and awarded $62,450 in support for district programs, including teacher grants, innovation grants, mock‑interview scholarships and recognition banquet support. The foundation also awarded 13 CTE scholarships through the mock‑interview program.
Mike Crowley said the foundation increased board giving and community partnerships, set goals to grow the alumni database and to diversify revenue streams, and asked trustees to help with outreach and introductions to potential donors and grants. Trustees praised the foundation’s momentum and asked about outreach strategies; foundation leaders cited intentional outreach, social media and board alignment as key tactics.
The board named incoming trustees Vic Raina and Amy Shaw as foundation liaisons for the next year.
