"I am Angela Moore and I proudly serve as the Glades region superintendent," Moore told the commission, then outlined recent gains: Crossroads Academy’s graduation rate is 92.6% and Glades Central’s is 98%, the highest in that school’s history. Moore credited partnerships — city events, internships, and a safety committee including Captain Payne and city staff — for contributing to improved outcomes.
Moore said the district is preparing students for end‑of‑year state exams while continuing programs that provide no‑cost opportunities for elementary students, including summer internships and festival participation. She also noted operational wins such as securing a crossing guard for Glades Central after a two‑year partnership effort.
Moore and principals in the room emphasized the role of coordinated events (parades, holiday celebrations, festivals) and shared committees for safety and advisories. Commissioners thanked educators and said they intend to continue supporting school programs and outreach.
Moore asked the city to sustain support for internships and events that expose students to career pathways and opportunities at West Tech and other local institutions.
