The fire chief told council the city sold a 2005 Sterling pumper that had been posted for sale on a Minnesota firefighter network; within days the city had multiple inquiries and a purchaser who drove in to inspect the vehicle. The chief said the buyer will pick up the vehicle on Dec. 17 and the city received a check today.
Council considered Resolution 25‑73 to declare the pumper surplus and accept the bid; the motion was moved and seconded and council approved it by voice vote. The chief said proceeds will be recorded in the fire fund sale‑of‑assets account and will be available when the new truck arrives and staff pay for associated costs.
