On transportation matters, staff reported a change in earlier DOT guidance that shifted some responsibilities for a traffic signal and related electricity/maintenance to the town of Skyler; the board noted the town has contributed and that a $3,500 grant had reduced certain costs. The IDA accepted a $5,500 pass-through payment (a check to be signed and issued to DOT) to address a registration/permit item.
The board also reviewed an estimated $15,500 repair to a Route 5S park entrance following DOT inspection. After debate about contractor responsibilities and risk, board members agreed to allocate roughly one-third of the bill from IDA funds (about $5,800) and have other parties cover the remainder; a motion to that effect was seconded and approved.
Board members framed these allocations as routine community investments intended to support events and ensure infrastructure completion as development in Skyler progresses. The board recorded the approvals as carried; staff will follow up on implementation and payment routing.
