The Select Board on March 31 introduced the town’s new Treasurer-Collector, identified in the meeting as Ellie (also referred to as Elizabeth or Ally). Chair and board members welcomed her after a selection process that included 19 applicants and two finalists.
Ellie described her municipal career, saying she began 10 years ago in a treasurer/collector’s office, later worked in assessing, and served the last four years as treasurer-collector in Randolph. "I'm very happy to be here and I'm grateful to be here as well," she told the board, and staff confirmed an overlap with outgoing treasurer Paula that will include on-the-job transition before Paula’s last day on April 10.
Board members noted the importance of institutional knowledge in the finance office and expressed support for the new appointment; no formal vote was required to introduce or welcome the new hire at this meeting.
