Van Alstyne Chamber mixer spotlights Cook DFW Roofing’s services, podcast and May scavenger hunt

Mike Shaw, reporting for the City of Van Alstyne, said the Van Alstyne Chamber of Commerce held an after-hours mixer last week where Cook DFW Roofing and Restoration served as host and sponsor. "The food was on point thanks to our hosts, Cook DFW Roofing and Restoration," Shaw said.

Shaw described Cook DFW as having started in roofing and exteriors and expanding into full general-contractor work, from ground-up construction to remodels. He cited a recent job described as a "Mr. Power" structure recovery on Highway 121 after a garage fire as an example of the company’s work. "We pretty much can do anything," Shaw said of the company.

At the mixer, Cook DFW promoted a new homeowner podcast, Know Your Home, available on the company’s YouTube channel. Shaw said the podcast brings on experts in windows, insurance, weather and insulation to help homeowners understand how their houses are built and maintained. "The whole purpose of that podcast is to inform homeowners about things around their home," he said.

Shaw announced a community promotion beginning in May: a weekly scavenger hunt in which the company will hide gift cards around Van Alstyne, Anna and nearby service areas, post clues on Facebook during the week and issue a larger clue on Friday if prizes remain unclaimed. He invited other businesses to participate by donating gift cards for cross-marketing.

Shaw also reported that the chamber added two new members at the mixer and said that as the chamber and the city grow, business opportunities will expand. He directed listeners to vanalstynechamber.org for more information and community calendars.
