Council approves routine agenda items, special-event closures, liquor licenses and board appointments

At its June 24 meeting Crystal City Council unanimously approved the meeting agenda, minutes, financial reports, a church street-closure for July 28, the Jefferson County Growth Association bike ride on Aug. 11, local liquor licenses and the 2024 board appointments; no ordinances were considered.
The Crystal City Council on June 24 passed a series of routine motions and approvals during a brief meeting.
Council approved the meeting agenda and multiple sets of minutes (May 20 open and closed and June 10 special meeting minutes). The council also voted to accept the financial and sales-tax reports, which showed increases from the prior year.
Under new business, the council unanimously approved Emanuel Lutheran Church's request to close Bron Lane for a fundraising event on Sunday, July 28, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The council also approved the Jefferson County Growth Association's annual "bottleneck Bridge" bike ride scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 11, with a police escort; councilors noted the event brings hundreds of riders through Crystal City. Local liquor licenses presented in the packet were approved without discussion.
During the mayor's report council approved the mayor's slate of 2024 board appointments (planning and zoning, library board, police personnel board and others) in a single vote.
No ordinances or resolutions were on the agenda. The meeting concluded with a motion to adjourn that passed unanimously.
