Stony Point board completes reorganization, names officers and approves routine contracts

The Stony Point Town Board completed its 2026 reorganization and approved a series of routine business items at its first meeting. The board set its 2026 meeting schedule for the second and fourth Tuesdays at Patriot Hills Community Center, designated Webster Bank and NYCLASS as town depositories, and named the Rocklin County Times as the official newspaper with the Journal News as a backup. The motions carried without recorded dissent.
The board approved appointments across town government: Mark Johnson as planning board chairman, Dan O'Ce as chair of the architectural review board, Tom Wright as ZBA chair, Brad Conqu as town historian, Jay Catalo as the supervisor's confidential assistant, Katherine Murray as finance director and Keith Williams as deputy supervisor. The board also confirmed deputy town-clerk and deputy receiver positions named by the clerk and approved salary and standard-workday settings included in the 2026 budget.
Board members approved several contracts and project agreements. The town accepted an engineering proposal from Pittman & Deutsch for work at the wastewater treatment plant, ratified an intermunicipal agreement with Rockland County for sidewalk construction on county roads, and executed an agreement for paramedic services for 2026 subject to legal review. The board also renewed municipal energy contracts, approved a bond reduction for Baymar Mobile Home Park, and authorized budget modifications submitted by the finance director. A motion to renew the Community Pass recreation platform and to retain Rockland Web Systems for website maintenance were also approved.
Supervisor Stan said the reorganization intents were procedural and aimed to ensure continuity of town services; motions to adopt the procurement policy and to close the reorganization portion of the meeting concluded that section of the agenda.
The board set a public hearing for a property at 7 High View Avenue for Feb. 10 and approved an engagement letter for auditing services with PAF PKF O'Connor Davies. The board also approved the hire of a student office worker in the assessor's office.
