Jefferson County commissioners on May 28 approved a Cintas uniform and linen contract and completed two highway equipment purchases following presentations by department staff.
Chief Deputy Laura Pickel presented the Cintas agreement, available through state pricing, and said it is expected to save roughly 55% over the 60‑month term; the county attorney had reviewed the contract. Commissioner Ron Lee moved to approve the Cintas contract for the Sheriff’s Office and Commissioner David Bramer seconded; the motion carried.
Highway Superintendent Jason Copeland presented two vehicle quotes and said FEMA equipment reimbursement would be used to fund purchases. The board approved buying a 2026 Chevrolet Colorado from John Jones for $37,135 on a motion by Commissioner David Bramer, seconded by Commissioner Ron Lee.
Copeland also presented multiple quotes for a mini excavator and recommended the Boyd & Sons Bobcat E88 with trailer for its extended warranty and trade‑in program. Commissioner Ron Lee moved to approve the Bobcat and trailer from Boyd & Sons in the amount of $138,906; Commissioner David Bramer seconded and the motion carried.
