Other commenters described everyday business operations that require trucks. "These trucks are how we make a living and provide critical services for the community," resident Chris Wle said, listing fuel, septic, excavating and landscaping among necessary services.
Not everyone agreed the change was sufficient. Resident Steve Gish said the amendment "wasn't enough," urging a top‑down review of zoning in R2 residential areas and questioning the origins and appropriateness of weight and vehicle restrictions currently on the books.
The board adopted the law after closing the hearing and voting on the resolution to enact Local Law No. 2 of 2025; the town clerk was directed to enter the local law into the minutes and file it with the New York State Secretary of State.
