The township attorney told residents at the Sept. 16 meeting that a lease with Talma Farms has been executed and is effective Jan. 1, and that Talma Farms dismissed its lawsuit against the township with prejudice this week.
"We did execute that lease...and at the same time Farms also dismissed the lawsuit that they filed against the township with prejudice," the attorney said, describing the dismissal as closing that matter.
On open‑space acquisition, residents asked for an update on Potter's Farm. The attorney said the township has been conducting final due diligence and remains in communication with the property’s representatives and the church’s attorneys. He confirmed the committee previously authorized the acquisition by ordinance and said the township expects to proceed to contract and closing "very soon," though no definite closing date was provided.
Committee members said the land is intended to be preserved and that further details about the property’s ultimate use will follow after acquisition is complete. No additional formal votes were taken at the meeting regarding these matters.
