Board accepts CSEA proposal and approves district's initial bargaining proposal

The Redwood City School Board voted May 27 to accept the California School Employees Association (CSEA) proposal and to approve the district's companion proposal as the parties prepare for successor contract negotiations.
District staff told the board the district conducts three-year successor negotiations; the board recorded its acceptance of the CSEA proposal and then voted to transmit the district's own opening proposal. Staff said negotiations are calendared for June 17 and June 18, 2026. Trustees offered no substantive public amendments at the meeting and the motions passed by voice vote.
The board also noted the district conducts successor negotiations with more than one bargaining unit on a three-year cycle; both the acceptance of CSEA's proposal and the district's motion to propose were presented as action items on the agenda.
