According to staff commentary at the meeting, the district’s plan would raise impervious coverage to roughly 42% in the R2 district, add approximately 139 parking spaces, request flagpole and lighting heights up to 50 feet and seek signage variances related to a stadium. The district also requested an 18-month building-extension period under the ordinance where six months is standard.
Board members said the district previously presented this plan at the March meeting and suggested the zoning hearing board should make determinations on the variances. The commissioners did not make a recommendation beyond authorizing township representation to attend and speak in favor where appropriate at the zoning hearing.
