The Select Board acknowledged receipt of a $30,000 pledge from Cardigan Lodge No. 38 (Bristol) intended for Plymouth’s public-safety building. Town staff said the gift is restricted to building-related costs such as equipment, furniture or design and cannot be used for land acquisition.
Board members asked staff to express gratitude, to accept the gift formally at a public hearing and to place the funds in a restricted escrow account for the public-safety building. Town Manager Kevin Pierce said he would contact the donor to communicate the board’s appreciation and to arrange the hearing so the donor can complete distribution before the next board meeting.
Next steps: staff will schedule a public hearing to accept the funds, create the escrow account, and report back to the board on formal acceptance and use restrictions.
