Winchester Board approves minutes, pays bills and adds two volunteer firefighters

Mayor Bob McCoy called for the vote to approve the minutes and the board approved them by voice vote. The board then reviewed accounts payable; a motion to pay the bills was made and approved. The minutes and bill payments received no substantive discussion at the meeting.
Scott Patterson, the fire chief, asked the board to approve two volunteer firefighter applicants, saying both would enter as volunteers and that one applicant, Mikey Boroff, is certified in fire and taking EMT certification and another, Brooks Burlson, needs sponsorship to enter basic live-fire courses. “They’re both just volunteers at this time,” Patterson said. The board moved, seconded and approved both volunteers by voice vote.
The meeting recessed into department reports after routine approvals. The board adjourned at the end of the agenda without additional formal actions.
