The board was told the 360 would solicit anonymous input from approximately 18 department heads and 26 board and committee chairs; respondents can mark items as “not applicable” if they lack direct interaction with the manager.
The proposed timeline presented to the board calls for immediate distribution of the 360 instrument, aggregation of responses by April 3, a town‑manager self‑evaluation by April 9, and board member evaluations completed by April 23. The board will use the aggregated themes to prepare a consensus document and is scheduled to consider final approval of the evaluation at a May meeting. Several members emphasized that narrative comments (what the manager should do more of or less of) are critical and should not be optional.
After discussion about anonymity, workload of the instrument and timing around upcoming elections, a board member moved to approve the process and tools as presented; the motion carried by voice vote.
The board directed Human Resources to administer the instruments, aggregate results for the board, and schedule follow‑up meetings as part of the evaluation process.
