The Foxborough Select Board voted unanimously on May 4 to approve a three‑year collective bargaining agreement with Firefighters Local 2522 covering fiscal years 2026 through 2028. The board said the contract was unanimously ratified by the union and includes a 2.5% cost‑of‑living increase for each year, along with educational enhancements and tightened non‑monetary provisions.
"Yes we do have a Union contract ready to be signed; it was unanimously ratified by the fire Union," said Paige, who presented the agreement to the board and outlined its financial and non‑monetary terms. The board moved to approve the agreement and voted in favor with all members present voting yes.
The board said the contract is one of several bargaining units under negotiation; staff noted there are multiple expiring contracts that will require similar work by town negotiators. No further details about incremental costs beyond the 2.5% figure were provided in the meeting record.
The Select Board indicated the town will complete any necessary administrative steps to execute the agreement after union ratification and return to routine budget reporting to reflect the contract’s cost.
