Dennis said the parcels lie between New York and Romig Streets and between Sixth and Seventh Streets. Staff proposes a combined minimum bid equal to the average of two appraisals — $69,700 — and requires that any successful bidder agree to terms in the public offering, including initiating a rezoning to planned development for housing. If no acceptable offers arrive within 60 days, staff may begin negotiations.
A motion to approve the request for proposals was made and seconded; the commission approved the motion by voice vote with one opposition recorded. Staff will publish the RFP and proceed with advertising and the offering process.
