Goshen approves $750,000 GMP amendment for Annex renovation

The Goshen Board of Public Works and Safety on May 28 approved Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) Amendment No. 1 with DJ Construction for renovation work at the Goshen Annex building.
City staff said the amendment reflects a reduced project scope after state funding changes and establishes a GMP of $750,000. The scope described at the meeting includes installation of a new elevator and associated framing, concrete and electrical work; exterior masonry cleaning and tuckpointing; and supply and installation of interior magnetic storm windows. The agreement contemplates completion within 120 days of the notice to proceed.
A city presenter explained the amendment follows pre‑construction services and complies with the statutory procurement process under which the city contracted with DJ Construction in December 2024. The board voted unanimously to approve the amendment and authorized the mayor to execute the agreement.
The board did not discuss specific funding sources for the amendment at the meeting; staff said reductions in the project scale were driven by changes in state funding earlier in 2025.
