Mayor says new investors are renovating Carriage Greens, vows promotion at reopening

The mayor described the scope of work: removal of interior walls in the restaurant, new flooring and ceiling tiles, remodeled banquet-area approaches, refurbished restrooms and a renovated bar area. She said management is shifting from a leased model to a professional management group for food and beverage operations and that the owners plan to resume weddings, outings and banquet bookings. The mayor noted that a wedding scheduled for June 29 will be honored.
"We were impressed with the plans for the remodeling and we indicated to the Broadricks that we look forward to their reopening," the mayor said, describing the visit and the owners' enthusiasm. The mayor added that the improvements could benefit Darien economically and that she expects the city to promote the facility once it reopens.
Council members suggested a ribbon-cutting when the site is ready and encouraged residents to visit after the reopening.
