Data‑center moratorium: After public comment from residents urging a moratorium or ban on data centers, trustees debated utility and siting constraints and the need for fact‑finding. The board adopted resolution 26‑0520B placing a 12‑month moratorium on issuance of zoning permits and approvals for new data‑center uses in Hamilton Township to allow the township to study impacts and consider zoning changes. The motion passed with recorded yes votes by Mr. Cordray, Mr. Rossi and Mr. Sousa.
TIF accounting and other routine resolutions: The board approved resolution 26‑0520C to increase appropriations in the Hamilton Point TIF fund to reconcile 2026 budgets and reimburse $13,235.68 for contracted items related to the Chase Bank development and $224.89 to Warren County for its work. The board also approved resolution 26‑0520D to authorize private sale of unneeded and unfit property held by the police department (impound lot dispositions). Additional motions approved included a roster amendment to add a full‑time firefighter EMT, a dental insurance renewal for 2026‑27 reflecting a negotiated 5% increase over current rates, and approval of a cemetery deed purchase for James Freeman.
