Committee members discussed options: seek a recommendation from the task force, send a one-question survey to task-force members or selectboard representatives, or leave the approved number in place to avoid delaying town-meeting ballots and incurring costs of special town meetings.
Members noted the practical effects: in some years one school may have multiple smaller repairs under $5,000 while another may have none; raising the threshold would shift more cost and discretion to the district budget. Administrators cautioned that changing a number after the task force vote and after sending materials to member towns could require restarting parts of the process and risk scheduling and legal complications.
