Students outline kindness week and field day; board asked to form small community engagement review group

Student council representatives told the board they plan a "kindness week" (planned April 27–30) to distribute treats during lunch and a field day at the end of the school year funded from existing fundraiser savings.
"We just want to use it to do stuff with the student body," a student council speaker said, describing donuts, floats and out‑door activities that would be free to students. The students said funds come from prior fundraising and not new donations.
Separately, Gloria presented a draft community-engagement PowerPoint and requested two or three board members (or appointees named by the board president) to review and tailor the presentation for Belcourt schools before it is shown to the full board. "I would like at least two board members to work with me to look over it, to give input," Gloria said, outlining goals for community meetings and board members answering community questions.
Volunteers were solicited at the meeting and the board agreed to follow up on who will serve on the review group. The board did not take formal action on the PowerPoint at this meeting and asked for follow-up.
