Following an executive session on personnel, the Alma School District board approved a slate of hires and a transfer at its May 14 meeting.
Mr. Aslin presented the recommended hires and transfers. Approved hires and assignments included: Kent Myers (band director, high school); Cara Willman (agriculture education teacher, high school); Shane Ayotte (math teacher, Alma High School); Sydney Andrews (science teacher, Alma Middle School); Lindsay Katie (teacher, Alma Intermediate School); Dexter Pendegraft (PE teacher, Alma Intermediate); Elizabeth Arcoso (teacher, Alma Primary School); Rachel Mazlakov (teacher, Alma Primary School); and Erin Anderson (teacher, Alma Primary School).
The board also approved the transfer of Brian Kirkendall from high‑school principal to assistant superintendent with his contract running through June 2028. A motion to approve the recommendations was seconded and passed with 'Aye' and no opposition recorded in the public transcript.
The board adjourned after adopting the employment recommendations.
