The Sunny Isles Beach Local Planning Agency adopted an amendment to Chapter 265, Section 265-53 establishing a proactive requirement that condominium-association and commercial swimming pools display the pool address in a convenient, visible location with letters at least 4 inches tall.
Staff explained the rule is intended to help callers convey location to 911 or emergency responders and that single-family homes are not subject to the requirement. Commissioners discussed an educational compliance period and working with property owners to reach compliance rather than imposing immediate changes.
A motion to approve was moved, seconded, and the agency recorded affirmative responses in support of the ordinance.
The ordinance requires property owners and operators of community pools that are owned or operated by condominium associations or commercial entities to ensure an address is displayed at the pool area, with an educational period built into implementation.
