Crate highlighted the administration’s multi-year focus on lowering the township’s debt. He said the township reduced debt by approximately $48 million from a peak and eliminated roughly $4.7 million last year, bringing total debt to just over $120 million as of January 1 of the budget year.
The mayor thanked Business Administrator Joanne Bergen and CFO Moren Lafyberg for preparing the package and reiterated that the council will review the proposal before final adoption. He said questions and adjustments by the council are expected during the review process.
