CRA highlights downtown investments and new projects in FY2025 report

The Tarpon Springs Community Redevelopment Agency presented its FY2025 annual report, summarizing downtown grant activity, private investment and planned projects intended to stimulate redevelopment.
Economic Development Manager Karen Lemons outlined four matching grant programs (faade, restaurant recruitment, building-code and mural grants), noting 141 CRA projects over 14 years and roughly $850,000 in grant funds leveraged into an estimated $5.2 million in private investment. Recent FY2025 projects included an eight-unit Tarpon Springs Apartments infill project, the adaptive-reuse Livery Guest House boutique hotel (with a CRA-funded historic marker), and Noble Hearts Distillery on the Pinellas Trail.
Lemons also described parking and wayfinding improvements (signed municipal lots and banners), a planned downtown lighting project to improve trail safety and a master-plan refresh that will create an implementation matrix to prioritize CRA investments and inform a proposed 10-year extension of the district.
CRA/Main Street representatives also updated the board on staffing: an executive director was hired and outreach and board-development work is underway. Commissioners praised the presentation and encouraged broader public visibility for the report.
