Hull school committee unanimously approves FY27 budget, reappoints superintendent to regional board

The Hull School Committee unanimously approved the proposed FY27 school budget at its April 13 meeting and voted to reappoint the superintendent as the district’s representative to the Southshore Educational Collaborative.
The superintendent opened the public hearing on the budget, noting the proposal had been presented to the advisory board and published in the newspaper; Diane printed copies of the budget for anyone with questions. After no members of the public spoke during the hearing, Committee member Courtney moved to approve the FY27 budget; Committee member Brendan seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
The vote sends the proposed budget forward to the town meeting process. The superintendent thanked committee members for their review and feedback, calling the budget “a partnership between the schools, the school committee and the town” and saying staff will be ready to answer questions at town meeting.
The committee also completed routine business at the meeting: members approved minutes from the March 9 regular meeting and the March 23 advisory board meeting, and they voted to reappoint the superintendent to the Southshore Educational Collaborative board (a regional board of superintendents) after a motion and second carried without opposition.
The meeting concluded with routine approval of warrants and a motion to adjourn at about 7:15 p.m.
