Holbrook canvasses Nov. 4 charter amendment election; turnout 19.37%

• Proposition 438 — 295 yes, 170 no (yes carried). • Proposition 439 — 265 yes, 203 no (yes carried). • Proposition 440 — 290 yes, 177 no (yes carried). • Proposition 441 — 201 yes, 264 no (no carried). • Proposition 442 — 187 yes, 278 no (no carried). • Proposition 443 — 342 yes, 129 no (yes carried). • Proposition 444 — 241 yes, 224 no (yes carried). • Proposition 445 — 308 yes, 159 no (yes carried). • Proposition 446 — 315 yes, 152 no (yes carried). • Proposition 447 — 170 yes, 297 no (no carried).
Council members asked the clerk to restate a few of the measures for clarity (for example, which amendment would remove the city treasurer office and which would raise an expenditure threshold). The clerk clarified that one question would increase the city’s expenditure threshold without voter approval (discussion referenced a $500,000-to-$1,000,000 change) and another would repeal the office of city treasurer.
The council recorded the official canvas and no further action was required at the meeting.
