Consultants working on Foxboro's strategic plan updated the Select Board on April 14, saying the National Community Survey produced 542 responses — about a 15% response rate, slightly above the firm's national average — and that qualitative listening sessions are underway.
Cheryl Tr and Maddie (Mattie) Shay of Ralph Telus said the survey yields a margin of error of roughly 4.5% and provides a statistically significant baseline for comparing Foxboro to peer communities. The team has completed two of four community listening sessions and several stakeholder interviews and will synthesize quantitative and qualitative input to build a draft strategic framework over the spring and summer.
The consultants said they plan continued light-touch engagement through the summer and a communitywide open house in September or October, followed by a draft plan and implementation conversations with town staff. "This is a community-driven plan," one consultant said, noting the process is designed to translate residents' input into measurable, actionable goals.
Board members and residents at the meeting encouraged continued outreach and participation at the remaining listening sessions scheduled for the community center.
