Sergeant Gabrielle Frank named Nebraska VFW law enforcement officer of the year

Sheriff Weitzel recognized Sergeant Gabrielle Frank at the June 12 Dodge County Board meeting for being selected as Nebraska’s VFW law enforcement officer of the year. The nomination came from Cheryl Feala of the North Bend VFW Post and the award was presented on June 8 at the Nebraska VFW Convention.
Sergeant Frank said the honor was especially meaningful because Jerry Halladay of the North Bend VFW had long supported law enforcement and had planned to nominate her; Halladay died two years ago. "He was a huge supporter of law enforcement and it was his dream for Sergeant Frank to receive this honor," she said.
The board recorded the recognition as part of routine business; no board action was required.
