Dodge County approves $100,000 toward repairs of Kavich Parking Lot in Fremont

The payment is contingent on the City of Fremont formally approving the project and on the parking area remaining free to the public, the board said. "The finance committee has considered this and they think it needs to be approved at the Board level," Chairman Missel said. The city had not taken formal action, and the board did not set an estimated completion date for the repairs.
Board members discussed the county’s need for nearby parking when considering the contribution. Supervisor Backens asked whether the city had provided a timeframe; Missel said none had been provided and that the county would move forward only after the city acts.
The appropriation was recorded as a unanimous board action. The board did not specify a payment schedule or identify a county department responsible for administering the contribution.
