Mishawaka Board of Public Works approves routine purchases, permits and claims

Mrs. Word moved and the board approved updates to the city travel policy’s mileage and meal allowances, effective April 1, and approved supplemental agreement No. 1 with Lake Michigan for the Autumn Mall project, described in the record as a clarification of services with no change in price.
The board approved a claims docket totaling $864,764.11. In new business the board approved Medieval Paving’s request for six oversized and overweight loads to travel through Mishawaka on specified dates and routes, subject to any requirements from the Department of Engineering.
Under old business the board continued consideration of pending liquor-license applications for 116 West Mishawaka Avenue and 327 Union Street after Mr. Hunt reported incomplete fire-department sign-off; the item was carried to the next meeting.
An email from Tom Bolsten was read into the record thanking Water Department employee Jordan Hagedorn for personally explaining lead-update materials; Bolsten asked that the board note that Hagedorn was “professional and a valuable asset to the city of Mishawaka.”
The Board of Public Works portion of the meeting concluded after public comment was opened and none were offered.
