Bob Patec, representing the Orchard Glenn HOA, said residents have worked with township staff and community partners to pursue grant funding and technical help from the Chesapeake Bay Alliance, which has offered to front the expense, plant native species and provide maintenance for three years. Commissioners discussed whether two months was sufficient and agreed a longer extension through July 1 would be reasonable to allow grant processes and planting planning.
The board’s motion authorized continued coordination with the Chesapeake Bay Alliance, subject to township review and approval of the planting plan; implementation timelines will depend on funding and planting-season constraints.
