Woodridge board approves Deer Millwork PUD amendment, garage code changes and several contracts including 2026 fireworks

Director Kimberly Clark presented the Deer Millwork major PUD amendment (ordinance 2025‑47), describing an infill millwork manufacturing and corporate office project at 7145 James Avenue in the Midpoint Park Business Park. She said the plan commission recommended the facade changes and a third‑party sound study showed the revised dust collector would comply with IEPA noise regulations; the board approved the amendment by roll call.
On zoning code changes, Clark said the board adopted ordinance 2025‑44 to clarify accessory garage rules for single‑family homes. The revisions set a proportional standard allowing attached garages up to 50% of the first‑floor gross floor area or 1,000 square feet, whichever is greater; they preserve a 27‑foot maximum façade width for garages facing the right‑of‑way (generally a standard three‑car width) and require garages to be accessed via an improved driveway surface. Clark said the change was intended to make rules proportionate for larger homes while preserving neighborhood character; the plan commission had recommended the revision.
The board also approved resolution 2025‑104 to secure construction inspection services for work on the Panatani Davy Road development and ratified resolution 2025‑101, a labor agreement with the police union (Local 51). Ordinance 2025‑45 updated the village salary plan to include the authorized police social worker position. Finally, trustees approved resolution 2025‑103 to contract with Mad Bomber Fireworks Productions for the 2026 fireworks show; administrators said tariff‑driven cost pressures mean fewer shells this year but the company will deliver a 25–30 minute show and has committed to adjusting shell counts if tariff costs change.
