Delanco committee adopts park rules ordinance and authorizes $178,000 bond for vehicles

The Delanco Township Committee on May 19 approved two ordinances on second reading: Ordinance 2025-5, updating park and public property regulations, and Ordinance 2025-6, a bond ordinance authorizing the appropriation of $178,000 for vehicles and equipment for the public works and police departments.

Both ordinances were read by title, opened for public hearing and — with no public speakers on these items — were approved by unanimous roll-call votes. The motion to approve Ordinance 2025-5 was moved by Matt and seconded by Kate. Ordinance 2025-6, described in the reading as authorizing the issuance of $169,100 in bonds or notes to finance a $178,000 appropriation, also passed on motion and roll call.

The committee also approved a largely routine consent agenda covering road improvement contracting (contingent on NJDOT approvals), tax refund and overpayment resolutions, professional park design services, and amendments to a locally funded road program. One item — Resolution 2025-83, the emergency appropriation to fund a special election for 401 Creek Road (see separate article) — was removed from consent for separate consideration and was later approved.

The committee read and adopted a proclamation recognizing Emergency Medical Services Week (May 18–24, 2025) and briefly discussed upcoming Memorial Day and parade logistics. The public works and police departments were noted as preparing equipment and staffing for local events.

Next meeting: The clerk set a public hearing on Ordinance 2025-7 (grant of easement to New Jersey American Water) for June 2, 2025, at 7:00 p.m.; the committee also listed upcoming contract awards that are contingent on state approvals.
