At its March 10 meeting the Yellow Springs Planning Commission elected Susan Styles as chair and Gary as vice chair.
Commissioners first accepted nominations and held a roll‑call vote for chair. Susan Styles was elected chair after a roll call; one member abstained. The commission then unanimously elected Gary as vice chair.
During discussion around the leadership nominations, members noted they did not expect large programmatic changes but said different chairs can emphasize priorities. One commissioner praised Gary’s advocacy for bicycling projects; others emphasized the commission’s interest in affordable housing and in contributing to a village council housing retreat planned for April. Gavin, the council liaison, said the housing retreat will be a full‑day session and that council will update goals afterward; commissioners were invited to submit priorities for the retreat and to plan a goal‑prioritization discussion at a future planning commission meeting.
Commissioners also reviewed routine agenda items and upcoming applications for the next meeting. The commission adjourned after completing business.
